Barbara Hall Chamberlain
While stationed at the Edgewood Arsenal in Maryland, she met her future husband, Nugent Chamberlain, on a blind date. Their marriage lasted 64 years until Nugent’s death in 2008. The couple raised three sons together, John, Scott, and David.

Barbara and Nugent started their family after the war, and while raising their sons Barbara found time to volunteer in the local hospital in Baytown, Texas, and welcomed neighborhood children into their home, where they benefited from her kindness.

Barbara kept her nursing license active until her death in 2011. Her family has chosen to honor her memory and dedication to the field of nursing with the Barbara Hall Chamberlain Endowed Graduate Fellowship.
