Cole William Adams Memorial Endowed Presidential Fellowship in Social Work

May 15, 2013 | EPS/EPF

The Cole William Adams Memorial Endowed Presidential Fellowship in Social Work was established by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System on May 15, 2013 to benefit The University of Texas School of Social Work. Gift funds were provided by the Amherst Foundation.

Cole William Adams
Cole Adams was killed in a car accident at the age of 18. The partners of Amherst Securities created this scholarship to honor Cole’s memory and to do something meaningful for his mother and fellow Amherst partner, Tracy Erwin. The endowment provides fellowships to graduate students in social work based on their interest in the fields of addiction and recovery. Tracy said that Cole was always the friend with the infectious smile who would go out of his way to help others. So it is fitting that this fellowship reflects Cole’s spirit of caring by helping students who will one day help young adults recover from substance abuse.
