James and Shelley Ulm Endowed Dean’s Scholarship in Business

Mar 12, 2014 | EPS/EPF

James and Shelley Ulm have a family of Longhorns. James and Shelley both earned degrees at The University of Texas at Austin. James received a BBA in accounting in 1987, and an MBA in business administration in 2014, and Shelley received a BS in elementary education in 1989. Now their Longhorn legacy continues. Their oldest daughter, Madison, is a 2015 Moody graduate, and their other daughter, Hannah, continues the tradition, working toward her own UT degree. Though still in elementary school, their youngest child, James, a huge Longhorn fan, also shows promise to follow in the family’s footsteps.

“We are a blessed family that strongly supports academic institutions that are important to us and that have made a difference in our lives and our children’s lives,” Shelley said.

They intend to make a difference for future students through the James and Shelley Ulm Endowed Dean’s Scholarship in Business. Recipients will be selected by a faculty committee in the McCombs School of Business, with approval of the dean or the dean’s representative.

The couple hopes that their children continue their Longhorn tradition of attending the school and giving back.

“The University of Texas is special to all of us, and being able to give a little something back only deepens our connection,” James said.
