Name: 21st Century Fund for U.S. Latino Library Materials

Approval Date: November 27, 2007

Fundraising to create this endowment was initiated in August of 2005 to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Mexican American Library Program. In November 2007, with their fundraising goal met, the Benson Latin American Collection celebrated the official establishment of the 21st Century Fund for Mexican American and U.S. Latino Library Materials. Funds from this endowment are used to acquire materials to support research in Mexican American and U.S. Latino Studies and to disseminate and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Latinos in the United States. Friends of the Benson Collection from all parts of the world made this endowment possible through their donations; those interested in this initiative can help the endowment grow by making a gift today.
