Margaret Adams Griffin Excellence Endowment in Human Ecology
Established June 28, 2007

Campbell A. Griffin, Jr. Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Law
Established December 5, 1991

Campbell A. Griffin, Jr., J.D. '57, was hired right out of law school by Vinson, Elkins, Weems & Searls, now Vinson & Elkins. He was a valued member of the firm until his retirement after 36 years. In the course of a distinguished career in corporate and securities law, he served as a member of the Management Committee at Vinson & Elkins for nine years and was the partner responsible for the establishment of the firm's Dallas office.

Mr. Griffin found the practice of law very satisfying and rewarding. In 1991, he and his wife, Margaret, funded the Campbell A. Griffin, Jr. Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Law with the hope that the recipients would find the same satisfaction. He was himself the recipient of a scholarship, without which he would not have competed his education. Providing opportunity for future students was for him a chance to pay that back.

In 2007 Margaret Griffin was proud to gift the College of Arts and Science with the Margaret Adams Griffin Excellence Endowment in Human Ecology. Margaret completed a B.S. and an M.S. degree in the program, then known as Home Economics and now the Division of Nutritional Science in the School of Human Ecology, which is a part of the College of Arts and Science The endowment supports excellence in the study of Nutritional Sciences, Margaret's lifelong interest.
