McCombs Alumni Endowed Dean's Scholarship in Business

Resources

An idea hatched by members of the McCombs BBA and MPA Alumni Advisory Boards, the McCombs Alumni Endowed Dean’s Scholarship and the McCombs Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund were created to provide more scholarship opportunities for incoming McCombs students based on academic merit. Established by the Board of Regents in 2015 and 2016, these scholarships offer the McCombs School a competitive edge in recruiting top business school students.

These two scholarships were conceived as part of the McCombs Scholars Program, started by Dean Thomas Gilligan. In its bid to become the world’s top business school, McCombs has made student support a top priority. The McCombs Alumni Endowed Dean’s Scholarship and the McCombs Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund join the ever-growing initiative of the McCombs Scholars Program to further the mission and ensure the future of the McCombs Business School.

Your generosity helps turn my dreams and aspirations into tangible realities.”

With more than 900 donors, the first scholarship in this series was the McCombs Alumni Endowed Dean’s Scholarship, and it was a highly successful campaign. The funds for this scholarship were raised so quickly that the alumni and friends of McCombs decided to establish another scholarship fund, the McCombs Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund, and an additional 930 donors pledged their support. This fund will provide for multiple scholarships, and these awards will help support undergraduate students who have exhibited high potential for academic, professional, and ethical leadership.

Funds from these scholarships may also provide support for programs such as study abroad, case competitions, and leadership training. With a total of more than 1,800 contributors and more than $303,000 raised cumulatively, the McCombs School is well-positioned to offer scholarship support to world-class students.

McCombs thanks its generous alumni and friends for creating these scholarship opportunities for students and ensuring McCombs’ future as a leader in business education. As McCombs continues on its path as a leader in business education, scholarships and funding remain paramount in ensuring McCombs maintains this acclaimed distinction.
