Resources

The James Mirabal, P.E. Endowed Scholarship in Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering was established by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System on May 23, 2011, to benefit The University of Texas Cockrell School of Engineering. The endowment honors Mr. James Mirabel. Gift funds were provided by Mr. Jason Mirabel.

This endowment was established in 2011 by Jason Mirabal in honor of his father James Mirabal. As an Architectural Engineering student from 1992-1997, Jason Mirabal can attest to the impact his undergraduate engineering education has had on his professional construction career. One of his primary sources of encouragement during his engineering undergraduate days was his father, James Mirabal, P.E., who through his own example and personal life journey, always exhibited the characteristics of commitment, self-sacrifice, humility, and perseverance. Without his full support and exemplar, he would not be the person he is today. He established this endowed scholarship in his father’s name as a way to both pay tribute to his legacy and to encourage future civil and architectural engineers to pursue their academic dreams.
