Omega Phi Gamma Endowed Scholarship

Thomas Nguyen created the Omega Phi Gamma Endowed Scholarship with the help of his brothers at Omega Phi Gamma. Nguyen graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a BA in journalism in 1998 and received a JD from the School of Law in 2001.

As an undergraduate student, Nguyen was a founding member of Omega Phi Gamma, the largest Asian-interest fraternity in Texas. Since 1995, Omega Phi Gamma has served to foster community among Asian Americans and other underrepresented minorities, and strives to develop its members into leaders.

In establishing this scholarship, Nguyen and his brothers are leading by example, and they hope other fraternities will follow suit. “Being a true leader means helping those less fortunate and being selfless when it comes to philanthropy,” Nguyen says.

The Omega Phi Gamma Endowed Scholarship is used to benefit incoming freshmen with financial need who are pursuing degrees in natural sciences, engineering, business, geology, and other academic areas.
