Heather Dealy Memorial Scholarship

Like rays of the sun, Heather Dealy’s inner light reached and warmed everyone fortunate enough to have fallen within her orbit.  Her sunny disposition, enthusiasm, and infectious smile are remembered fondly by all who knew her – a wonderful daughter, sister, and friend. But Heather was more than a beautiful girl with a big personality; she was also an accomplished scholar of depth and great faith.

Even though Heather’s life was tragically short, she squeezed more joy and meaning into her shortened life than most people could realize over a hundred year span.  Who doesn’t remember her zany sense of humor and sense of style? No one had more fun at parties and no one was more magnetic. But beneath the energetic surface was a steady and devout commitment to Christ.

In celebration of her graduating class of Robert E. Lee High School, 1991, an endowed scholarship at The University of Texas at Austin was formed in her memory.  Named the Heather Dealy Memorial Scholarship, it is the hope of Heather’s friends and family, who are responsible for having established the fund, that potential recipients of this award possess those characteristics that best described Heather:
