Jon A. and Kelly U. Schweinle Endowed Scholarship in Chemical Engineering
The Jon A. and Kelly U. Schweinle Endowed Scholarship in Chemical Engineering was established by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System on December 1, 2014.
Funds distributed from the endowment shall be used to provide scholarships to undergraduate students at the sophomore, junior or senior level with a preference for students with financial need, who are employed, or those who have demonstrated leadership, character, interest in, and the potential for a successful career in engineering. Additional preference is for students who have completed a majority of their education in Brazil.
This endowed scholarship is a way to help support the educational goals of today’s chemical engineering students. It is hoped that this endowment will provide the additional funds necessary to encourage students to graduate into the engineering workforce.
This scholarship was established by Mr. Schweinle to honor his wife Kelly and his adopted second-home country of Brazil.
