The Les Dames D’Escoffier, Dallas Chapter Endowed Presidential Fellowship in American Studies was established by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System on April 21, 2014, to benefit The University of Texas College of Liberal Arts. Gift funds were provided by Les Dames D’Escoffier, Dallas Chapter.

Les Dames d’Escoffier is an organization of women leaders in food, beverage, and hospitality dedicated to fostering excellence through educational and charitable activities. It is the only organization of its kind: a worldwide philanthropic society of professional women leaders in the fields of food, fine beverage, and hospitality. The invitation-only membership, composed of 28 individual chapters across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, is highly diversified and reflects the multifaceted fields of contemporary gastronomy and hospitality.

Granted the original charter by Les Amis d’Escoffier, the first chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier was founded in New York in 1976. The Dallas chapter was one of the original five chapters that formed Les Dames d’Escoffier International in 1985, an umbrella organization for the formation of new chapters throughout the world.

The Les Dames D’Escoffier, Dallas Chapter Endowed Presidential Fellowship in American Studies supports graduate research in Texas, women, and food culture, by awards to students working on dissertation projects.
