Crespin Guzman Endowed Scholarship in Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering

Jun 21, 2016 | Scholarships

The Crespin Guzman Endowed Scholarship in Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering was established by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System on June 21, 2016, to benefit the Cockrell School of Engineering.

Marco Adnan Guzman, (’08 Civil), his wife Denise Gisela Guzman (’09 Civil) and ExxonMobile provided the funds in honor of Mr. Guzman’s father, a ’71 alum of the Engineering School in support of the Legacy Campaign for the program in Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering (CAEE).

“The Legacy Campaign will establish programs for Legacy Fellows and Legacy Scholars with endowed funds dedicated to attracting top graduate students and supporting undergraduate student researchers. Legacy Fellows will be recognized among the most prestigious graduate fellowships, and the Legacy Scholars will be distinct among our peer institutions, which typically lack the resources to fund undergraduate research.

CAEE’s success by any measure-top national rankings, graduation rates, and teaching awards-is tied to the accomplishments of its faculty, its graduate students, and its undergraduates. If CAEE is to continue to distinguish itself among peer institutions, it must invest in its most valuable resource-our students.”

The generosity of the Guzman family, loyal Longhorn engineers for two generations, is a valued expression of gratitude to the school and a priceless gift of opportunity for future students.
