Donald Wayne Neuenschwander Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Business Funded by the My Friends Foundation
Don Neuenschwander in the cutting horse competition world finals
Donald’s degree allowed him to become a partner in a national accounting firm and from there he moved into banking, where he became the CEO of several banks over 30 years. He now enjoys his retirement, splitting his time between Houston and the Texas Hill Country.
Along with his accomplishments in business, Donald was president of the Houston Texas Exes Association, helped establish two UT endowments — the R. W. and Kathleen Lindsey Endowed Presidential Scholarship and the Louis M. Pearce, Jr. Endowed Presidential Scholarship — and was inducted into the National Cutting Horse Association Hall of Fame in 2010 after competing in for 25 years.
The establishment of this scholarship has been a tremendous surprise and a great thrill for Donald. A UT education was very important to his successful career and he appreciates that the board of the charitable organization he founded over 35 years ago, My Friends, endowed this scholarship in his honor. My Friends helped many children, and this scholarship is an extension of that aid.
