Helen D. Vollmer Scholarship in Audiology
Helen C. Vollmer completed a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in Radio-Television-Film. Founder and head of Vollmer Communications and former president of Edelman Southwest, Helen has provided strategic counsel and public engagement direction to clients in technology, telecom, energy, government, healthcare, professional services, and education. She has a deep expertise in branding, public advocacy, thought leadership, and reputation management.
A loyal and involved alumna, Helen returned to campus as an assistant adjunct professor at Moody to share he real-world expertise with new generations of professionals. In 2016, she became chair of the distinguished Alumni Advisory Council. She actively promotes Moody and UT in the Houston area, a true leader in every task she takes on.
The audiology program is consistently ranked one of the top 15 programs in the United States by U.S. News and World Report. UT is a center for brain research, expanding understanding of the complexities of speech and hearing in an environment of interdisciplinary inquiry.
In honoring her mother, Helen D. Vollmer, with this scholarship, Helen Vollmer is providing priceless educational opportunity, doing her part to change the world.
