The Jenny and Thomas Hoang Endowed Scholarship was established by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System on March 24, 2011, to benefit The University of Texas Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. Gift funds were provided by Mrs. Jenny Hoang and Dr. Thomas Hoang.

The Hoangs are proud Texas Longhorns. Jenny graduated with a BA in Business Administration studying Management Information Systems. She now works for ExxonMobil as an IT professional. Thomas graduated with a BS in Biology. He went on to attend medical school and now works for Memorial Urology Associates as an urologist.

The Hoangs do not want a lack of finances to prevent fellow Texans from receiving a university education. The scholarship is for residents of Texas and for those that demonstrate a financial need.

The Hoangs say of their endowment:

“We established the scholarship in honor of our Lord, Jesus Christ, as a way to acknowledge the blessings and grace that He has so richly given us and in turn share those with others.”

“We wanted to provide students with an opportunity to live and learn from UT Austin just as Christ made possible the opportunity for us to attend.”

“To God be all the glory.”
