Keller Family Excellence Endowment

Jun 16, 2017 | Excellence Funds & Program Support

The Keller Family Excellence Endowment was established by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System on June 16, 2017, to benefit Intercollegiate Athletics. Stewart Keller comes from a family of Longhorns. His grandfather, Raymond, lettered at Texas in 1899 for football and his uncle, Raymond Jr., was on the first diving team and lettered in 1933. Stewart lettered in tennis from 1973-77 and was part of Coach Dave Snyder’s first recruiting class.

“I have been involved with the Texas tennis team for a long time,” he said. “I have helped on reunions, Coach Snyder’s 70th and 80th birthday parties (over 70 at each), and hosted the tennis team in Dallas for dinner the night before the SMU match for the last 15 years.” Stewart was president of the Hall of Honor nominating committee and a member of the Longhorn Foundation Advisory Council (LFAC) for over a decade. With this gift he opens a door for generations of future student-athletes.

“I funded this endowment because of what the University did for me. First, I met some great teammates and a terrific coaching staff. They helped me mature a lot during my four years. This small endowment hopefully will let another tennis player have the same great experience that I had in my four years.”
