Schwob Building Company Friends of Alec Endowed Scholarship in Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering

May 23, 2011 | Scholarships

This endowment was established in 2011 by Scott and Karin Schwob to benefit the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering.

Scott earned a Bachelor of Science in architectural engineering at The University of Texas at Austin in 1988. The education he received and the experiences he had at UT Engineering School (now the Cockrell School of Engineering) have shaped his life and strengthened his ability to succeed in business. He is passionate about helping others, strives to help preserve our wildlife and wilderness, and improve the environment for future generations.

Scott is the president and general partner of Schwob Building Company, Ltd, and has been a long-time supporter of the Cockrell School of Engineering through his financial support of the Friends of Alec annual giving program. It is through the hard work and dedication of his employees that he has been able to contribute to UT and establish this endowment, which he and Karin created in order to give back to the University and help its students achieve their educational and professional goals. Scott and Karin hope that this endowment will help the University continue to be one of the best in the world
